August 2008 - Activating Honesty Minimize

Activating Honesty

Our theme for August is honesty.  We only hide what we are ashamed of.  Dishonesty and shame always go hand in hand.  That’s why it’s so important to tell the truth.  Living an authentic life begins by being honest with yourself first.  Then it means finding the courage to be honest with others.

There is a way to tell the truth without being nasty about it.  We can be honest with others without being mean.  Mary Poppins was right----A spoon full of sugar really does help the medicine go down.

Join us in August for a month of Sundays exploring how to live an authentic, honest life.

“I wasn’t always able to live the advice that I so generously held out for others to live.  When I realized this, I found myself on equal ground with the people I had judged.  I saw that my philosophy wasn’t so easy for any of us to live.  I saw that we’re all doing the best we can.  This is how a lifetime of humility begins.”

Loving What Is

“We humans can re-organize the world based on compassion for each other and the love of being, rather than defense, and in doing so not only improve the quality of individual lives, moment to moment, but make changes world wide that will transform the structures we have built that keep suffering in place.”
