Awake with Gratitude

Treatment by Rev. Faith Woods

On this 18th day of the Sweet 16 year, I awake with gratitude. As I recognize one blessing, the others tumble into mind so quickly, saying “here I am – count me! – I am here too – count me. – wait – don’t forget me!! “ And as long as I am willing, they come – to remind me to wake up!

I stay in this space of gratitude until the energy builds and compels me to get out of bed and become attentive to this day with all its opportunities. I remember yesterday and time spent with spiritual community and making new connections. I am grateful for today that holds promises to come, and I am grateful for the prospect of tomorrow and the adventures it holds, knowing all the while, this is the moment I have and I am ready to use it.

Recognizing the Presence of Love from which all this energy arises is beckoning me to use this day, I become willing. Without needing to know what is next I become willing to shine my light, my knowing, and my talents in all the day brings forth. I choose to stay awake today in body, mind and soul in all my activities. As I speak these words, I speak them for all who receive this prayer.

Releasing to the powerful law, I close with final gratitude and the continuation of this energy through this day.

And so it is – Amen

The Start of Something New

Treatment by Caron  Ward, RScP

Today is the first day of the rest of the year!  A twist on the familiar saying…thinking of the opportunities that are opening up…yet they have always been there, I am just becoming more open to them!  It’s funny how one day – whether it is January 1st or January 16th – seems to present a newness, when every moment in any day is really the start of something new.  Every moment gives us the opportunity to let go of the past and open to what’s next …and so I give thanks for this….

This moment is full of the Grace of Spirit, the givingness of Love, Joy, Opportunity, Abundance… and I give this Spirit a name – I call It G-d.  G-d is the fulfillment of all of our needs, wants, desires presenting Itself in myriad expressions of good, and even greater good.    G-d is in, through, and throughout every thing, every being, every moment in time – those that have passed, those that are yet to be.

I celebrate the presence of G-d in me, as me, through me and all that surrounds me.  I celebrate G-d as my source, and I recognize this same Divine Spirit as each and every being.  I see the Grace of Spirit in the faces that I meet, knowing that each individual presents a unique view of the One.

And so I know as we take in a collective breath, we breathe in the newness of the next moment, and as we let go our breath, we relax a bit more …for with it we let go of a bit of fear.

And with the next breath we accept the love that is already ours, letting go of the remains of doubt as we breathe out….
And inhaling again we say yes to the joy that is already ours, letting go of worry as we exhale…
And so it goes…always bringing more good to us in every moment with every breath, while letting go of anything that is no longer needed from the past moment…saying Yes! To all the greater good that we are meant to experience….

How amazing it is!  That in each moment we are given this opportunity to say Yes! to ever  more good!  I am truly grateful for these infinite opportunities!  I am grateful to know that if I miss one, there is yet another opportunity coming….and for knowing that this is true for everyone everywhere.  So I say Yes! in THIS moment, I say YES! for everyone everywhere, knowing that more good comes to each of us individually and collectively as humankind.

I release these words into Law, knowing they are true and so I say….

And so it is!

Put Our Land in Order

Treatment by Tim Phares, RScP

T.S. Eliot wrote, “In my beginning is my end.”  He also wrote “Shall I at least put my own lands in order?”  Good words to keep in mind this year.

It can be difficult to keep our mental lands in order in contentious times.  That this is an election year adds additional temptations.  But as Ernest Holmes reminds us, we are a healing and teaching order.

This year, let us focus on our own environment.  Let us keep our lands in order, knowing that every beginning is also the end of something else.  When you claim your good as health or abundance, it is the end of illness and poverty.  When we focus our energy on what we’re here to do, it marks the end of settling for whatever has been distracting us from that.  As you walk the path, enjoy the shiny objects, but don’t be distracted by them.  It’s time to put our lands in order.

So let us pray.

There is only One Life.  That life is God’s Life, that Life is perfect, and that Life is my life now.  That One Life is in, as, through, throughout, and around all.

I know that Divine Action and Divine Order are working as each of us right now.  The love, joy, peace, harmony, abundance, prosp erity, and vision are ours.  They are mine and each person’s.  They are expressing as and through each life now.

As each of us puts our land in order, as we make new beginnings and pursue that which we are here to do, that which we are called to do, and that which we dream of doing, we enrich the world.  As we enrich our lives, as we fulfill the Divine Order that is each of us, the world works.  We lift up the world by lifting up our own lives.  We light the world by living the light that we are.  I know, accept, and declare this for myself and each of us right now.

I am thankful for this knowing and for this order.  I am grateful for the uplifted lives that we each step into.

And in that gratitude, I simply accept new beginnings and accept that good, knowing that is is done.  All is well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.

And SO it IS!

Drifting, Settling, Feeling, Thanking, Loving

Treatment by Edward Preston, RScP

I drift into my present moment.  I find the Devine Peace here in my present moment.  I know I am divine, so I know God drifts also.

I settle into this peace in this moment.  I become One with it.  I become One with all of those who read this and settle into the Peace of this present moment.  I know God settles with us here.

I feel really at peace.  I feel real Peace.  I share this reality with all who are with me.  I realize that God feels our peace.

I say “Thank you, Present Moment.”  I am grateful for the peace and the Presence.  I know that God feels my gratitude.

I release these words into the Law of life.  I love the Law.  I love the peace.  I love the Present Moment.  I know God is the Love and the Law and the present moment and We all are God in this moment.

And so it is.  Amen.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens — Awakening the Power, Following the Call

In the late 1990s, there was an article about George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, in the New York Times Magazine. In the accompanying photo, he is shown in front of a bookcase, alongside one of his children. His son is dressed as a Jedi warrior. There is only one title that can be clearly read in the bookcase: The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes. So it’s no wonder that in the new Star Wars movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we are told that “The Force is in and around all living beings.”

Suzanne and I recently went to see this movie. I should tell you that it’s a bit on the long side, but it is gripping, so you really don’t notice.

Without revealing too much plot, I’d like to discuss a couple of points I saw in the movie. The basic premise is that thirty years after the destruction of the last Death Star and the collapse of the Galactic Empire, the ashes of the Empire have given rise to an even more dangerous group known as the First Order. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker, one of the last remaining Jedi, has disappeared after a failure in training one of his classes of Jedi students. General Leia Organa (the Princess of the destroyed planet Alderaan) sends her best pilot, Poe Dameron, to find Luke.

As Poe tries to carry out this mission, he encounters an escaped First Order storm trooper, FN-2187, whom he calls Finn. Dameron’s droid, BB-8, has part of the map to where Luke is. When Finn and Poe crash, with Finn the only apparent survivor, BB-8 attaches himself to a scavenger on the planet Jakku named Rey. Neither Finn nor Rey really wants to get involved in the Resistance. Finn just wants to escape the First Order and Rey just wants to go back to scavenging on Jakku.

Eventually, the First Order comes after Rey and BB-8, who escape in an old, poorly maintained ship called the Millennium Falcon. It gets swallowed up by another ship, piloted by Han Solo and Chewbaca. The four of them set out to find Luke.

There is a tribute to the original Star Wars bar scene, when Han decides to visit an old friend, saloon keeper Maz Kanata, who has a light saber in a box that calls to Rey. It is the light saber belonging to the legendary Jedi master Luke Skywalker. Of course, Rey runs, but eventually, she cannot get away from the power.

When she is captured by the First Order, lead storm trooper Kylo Ren (in the black Darth Vader suit) attempts to force the information on Luke’s whereabouts out of her. He reports to the Supreme Leader that “she is strong in The Force – untrained but stronger than she knows.” (Wait until you find out Kylo Ren’s identity – it’s as surprising a Darth Vader’s was.)

Eventually, Finn and Rey, along with Poe Dameron, Han Solo, and Chewie, find themselves in the middle of things as they search for Han’s good friend and brother in law. The First Order keeps attempting to capture or kill them.

R2D2, who has been inactive since Luke disappeared, connects with BB-8 and discovers that he carries valuable information, which is greatly helpful to the Resistance forces (the Republic) in their efforts to find Luke.

It seems that Poe, Finn, Rey, and R2D2 are all called to step up when their moment demands it. Rey is called by the lightsaber; R2D2 is called by the awareness that his service and information are of value. BB-8, Finn, and even Han all have their moments when they must step it up.

What does this teach us? Well, for one thing, each of the characters comes to a crossroads and learns to step into his or her greatness. Each is called at some point and even if they try to run, they cannot get away from their mission. Similarly, we are called to fulfill our work in life and step into our greatness.

We must do what we are called to do, whether it’s writing, music, ministry, parenthood, or anything else. If we do not, it keeps following us. We can’t get away from it. As I like to say, your calling will keep calling until you answer. Commit to being who you are called to be and you just might lift up the world. You will be the channel for Right Action, and the world needs what you have to give. We don’t all have to save the world from evil empires, but we all have something important to do.

When you work with The Force (or whatever else you choose to call the Allness, the One), you can achieve greatness and though your path may contain numerous hazards and obstacles, focusing on what we must do smooths the way. And of course, it is much easier when we remember that It is “in and around all living things.” Including you and me.

You will likely enjoy this movie very much, and keep an eye out for the metaphysical metaphors that abound in the movie.

Ah Spring is Here….No, it is Christmas Season

Treatment by Rich Kurasiewicz, RScP
Ah Spring is here….no, it is Christmas season and just unseasonably warm…and rainy—it it is a marvelous time of year! As we celebrate during the Holidays and end the year, it is a good time to reflect with gratitude for all the blessings this year and in our lives. It is a good time to reflect on what we want to change for the better in our lives in the coming year, especially in committing to daily spiritual practices—for Christmas is the time of spiritual rebirth and renewal. This is the time to recommit and reconnect in Spirit and grace and express gratitude!  And so we pray…

God is the One Power and the only Presence. God is Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, and Omni-benevolent. God is All-Good and All there is—the One Life. God is the Creator and the Creation, all Life and everything there is. And, I am that I am. I am created in the spiritual image and likeness of God. I am of the Power and the Presence and the one Life—I and the Father are One.

Just as I am perfect, whole and complete, I know that each and everyone is Perfect, Whole, Complete, Eternal and Immortal. I declare that each and everyone expands and grows in the consciousness of the Truth that sets them free through deep gratitude of the bountiful blessings that manifest in their lives. I know that each and everyone connects daily with Spirit and the divine Omnipresence as they transcend the physical world of effects and go to First Cause through daily spiritual practices. I declare that each and everyone is divinely guided, directed, led, and protected to their highest good and greatest yet to be as the activity of God as Love and Joy in the world.  I know that all are filled with peace, love, joy and abundance in all areas of their lives and that they are a blessing to themselves and to everyone they come in contact with as the Truth sets them free. I know that each and everyone is a light in the world for the good of all in all areas of their lives.

I am so very grateful for the Blessings of Spirit and the light that shines in the lives of each and everyone.  I am so grateful for the Good and the gifts of Spirit that manifest in everyone’s lives.  I am grateful for each and everyone and the Truth that sets us free.
And I release my Word unto the Law where it is already known to the Mind of God. I declare that my Word shall not return unto me void. I give thanks that this is so and so it is!

The Wonders of God

Treatment by Tammi McKinley, RScP

I sit in awe of the wondrous gifts of the season. The warmth. Holiday cheer. Love. I bask in it all, knowing that it is all God and that God is not limited to my words or thoughts. God is all there is.

I know that I am one with that Life, that Spirit, as I express God as myself. I know this is true of each of us here and throughout the world. We are each one with and inseparable from the Divine.

I know that each one of us takes time to Practice the Presence. To see God in all things, all expressions. Not just for the holiday season but for the privilege of having this moment in human form. We each take a moment to pause, to take a breath and let it go, and see God right before our eyes. This is so.

I am so grateful for this knowing. Grateful to be awake to God right here and right now.

I release my words into the Law where they are already known in the One Mind. I let it go. I let it be.

And so it is
