Chanting with Nellie: Sound as Stairway to Heaven
Friday Oct 11, 7:15 – 8: 15 pm.
Join us for a powerful hour of chanting and meditation led by former Buddhist nun Nellie Lauth, MSW. We will sit on chairs in a candle lit circle, singing chants from multiple traditions. Regular attenders say, “Nellie blows out the roof. When she chants with us, a portal opens to another dimension.”
Nellie has worked with prisoners, AIDS patients, addicts, and dementia sufferers. But she credits her time in a Buddhist convent in India with teaching her true compassion. Tibetan monks brought her childhood Christianity into its fullest expression, she says.
Nellie has authored several books including “Buddhist Footsteps in a Christian Heart” and her latest, “Now Watch my Rising.” For more information see her website: nellielauth.com.
