In the Flow

Treatment by Caron Ward, RScP

It is my birthday today!  Too many years behind me and yet so many more glorious years ahead…and so I pray…

In every moment that has gone before, and in every moment there is yet to come, the Presence of Spirit that I call G-d stirs within each and every being, bringing forth the magnificence of Life….the One Life in which each of us participates…the One Life in which the abundance of joy, love, happiness, peace, and harmony is limitless and always available..

As I awaken to this new baby year that is mine to experience, I know that I am One with this Divine Presence…G-d Spirit Love energizes each cell in my body, each muscle, each bone, each organ…every part of me is One with this energy…urging me to move, to live, to create, to love…yes, most of all to love.

And so I open to the abundance that is Life…I let go and live in the flow, in joyful anticipation of what is to be revealed in this new year.  I know that there are innumerable opportunities to be presented, myriad directions in which I may go,  exhilarating adventures to be had! I say Yes to this Life!

As I know this is so for me, I know it is so for each and every One…for the Spirit of G-d is at the very heart of all of us and there are no bounds to what G-d brings forth …from each of us, to each of us.  G-d is our source, we let go and allow the gifts of Life to be revealed to us, the joy of each day is ours, the unconditional love is here with us, experiences that we have not yet imagined are ours to live….all the blessings of the Divine are ours!

I am grateful for the blessings that continually show up in my life and thankful for the faith, the belief without question, in the power and presence of love as me, as you, as G-d in all that is.

It is with this deep abiding faith, this absolute certainty that I know these words are true for me, as they are true for every being…that I release these words into the Law, and so it is!

Love, Joy, Peace, Abundance to all in your new year!

Accept and Know Peace

Treatment by Tim Phares, RScP

Wow, my prayer day just crept up on me.  Here it is the 10th already.  Happy New Year to all.

There is a lot going on in the world.  We watch the events unfolding in France and wonder how people can justify killing merely because they are offended.   It is a sad situation for all parties.
Prayer is always called for, especially in such circumstances.  Although there may hvae been legitimate offense, ultimately offense can only be taken, not given — and violence is not what is called for.  There are amny other ways of making the point.
We know that here is only One Life.  it is God, the All in All.  That life expresses as each and every one of us.
It is peace; it is love; it is harmony.  It is all of us.  Whether we are Charlie or offended by Charlie, that One Life expresses deliberately as us.  Whatever our views, that One Life is expressing.
On behalf of all, I accept and know peace.  On behalf of all, I know harmony, joy, tolerance.
I am thankful for life and for freedom of expression, and I express gratitude.
I let go and let it manifest, knowing it is done.
And SO it IS!

In the Beginning was the Word,…

Treatment by Edward Preston, RScP

Prelude

Wow, we are off and away on a new year.  Where I am we have 3 inches of snow and the night before last night it was 10 degrees outside.  It’s going up to about 30 degrees today.  For some that is really cold, and for some of us that is not bad.  We have had beautiful sunlight on the snow, so it truly is a beautiful winter season now.  We each launch into a new year and a new life with lots of old stuff going along, at our choice.  Some of those choices are subconscious.  As I started the new year, I told myself that I must remember to write “15”, not “14” for the year now.  So, the first time I dated a check, I wrote “January 3, 1915”.  Well I got the “15” right.  I’ve always said “Time is relative.”  Someday I expect to learn what that means.

Treatment

So, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ,,,”  (John 1:1)  I have accepted that as my mantra, ever since my Treatment and Meditation class 21 years ago.  I accept that “beginning” as preceding me in Form, yet I was there in Spirit.  It was My beginning.  Now in Form I celebrate my ability to Begin each day with a new Word.  So, every day, in the beginning is the Word, and the Word is with God and me, and my Word is God and my life with God as God.  We are One.

Each time I choose a new Word it is a new beginning.  Yesterday it was “Snow”.  Today it is “Sun”.  Tomorrow is another day and another word.  We are One in time and without time.  The Word that follows me eternally is “Flow” so, each day I go with the Flow, because in the beginning was the Flow, and the Flow was with God, and the Flow was God.  I accept that each of us, in the Flow of life, is God and One with God.  We are all One.

Each day I allow myself to realize a new Reality with a new Word.  My day begins with a new word for a new reality.  So, in the beginning is a new Reality, and that Reality is with God, and that Reality is God.  I just accept that God is Reality and Reality is God because God is All there is.  It takes lots of little words to describe the Word of the beginning.  I accept the Flow of little words and know that they are One, they are God, in the beginning and in the end, my beginning and end.  I am never sure there really is a real Beginning or End, beyond Form.  So, for now, I just realize the Flow of Words and thoughts and ideas as the wonderment of Form realizing Spirit, but knowing that Spirit simply realizes Form each moment, now and in the “beginning”.

I’m so grateful for the Flow of Words and my ability to play with words.  I share that play with all who read this.  We can all play with words and recognize, as we do so, that playing with words is what God does, as us.  Sometimes we can even see that “In the beginning are the Words, and the Words are with God, and the Words are God.  I am so thankful for “Thankful”, another blessed word of Life.

As we speak and write, we release Words.  I know we each have the power to know that these words have power, as I know that know.  They are released into the Law, even if that is not our intention.  Right now, it is my intention.  We know that the Law uses our words to play with us.  And we play with Law using our words.  So, I simply accept Law as my new word for tomorrow, knowing we all share that Word in reality, Now.

And so it is, Amen.

Christ Consciousness for these Holidays

Treatment by Rich Kurasiewicz

This time of the year is special–the spirit of the holidays that tends to bring good feelings and invites closeness with family and friends, the giving and receiving of gifts, holiday decorations, as well as all those sales. Moreover, another important aspect is that it starts with Thanksgiving and the opportunity to express gratitude for all the blessings in our lives, especially in the past year. When we get to Christmas, we ostensibly celebrate the birth of Jesus and in actuality, we are able to take the time to be re-born by renewing our consciousness in the Truth that sets us free. It is the annual celebration of Jesus’ birth that reminds us to renew ourselves in the Christ consciousness that is within each and everyone of us. And, with a new way of thinking through an expanded consciousness, we apply this inner knowing to a New Year of life’s experiences and the meaning we choose to give those experiences—I choose there is Good in everything and everyone for Good is a synonym for God. We affirm that there is only One Life and that Life is God’s Life; that Life is Perfect, Whole and Complete and that Life is my Life right now! And so we pray….

There is only One Life and that Life is God’s Life. That Life is Perfect, Whole and Complete as God is the Cause, the Creator and the Creation, all Life and everything there is. God is eternal, immortal, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent. And, I am that I am, I am One of the Father and the Creator. I am a Co-Creator as my Life is the Life of God in perfect expression. I am created in the spiritual image and likeness of God. Just as I am perfect, whole and complete, everyone is perfect, whole, complete, eternal and immortal and a divine, individualized incarnation of the One Life–God. I know that the gifts of peace, love, joy, abundance, health, harmony and happiness have already been made and are ours to accept for it is God’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom of Heaven, which is already within each and everyone right here and right now! I declare that each and everyone takes time this year, this holiday season, to go within and connect with their divinity, ever-present and ever-available, and transcends the effects to commune with the Cause within. I know that each and everyone thus is renewed in the realization of the Christ consciousness within and that it manifests in the world of effects for the highest good of everyone concerned. I know that each and everyone is blessed and the activity of God as love in the world and lets their light shine brightly this New Year to lift the consciousness of all as they are guided to their highest best and greatest yet to be.

I am so exceedingly grateful for each and everyone and for the seasons and the Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year) and the transformation through the renewal of mind that occurs for the benefit of all and the One—for the renewing of the Christ consciousness within. I am grateful for the outpouring of gratitude especially at this time of the year and daily as spiritual practice. I am so very grateful for the Light and the Blessings that flow through each and everyone as they allow the Truth to set them free. I release this Word unto the Law where it is already known in the mind of God and is assured of fulfillment. This is the Word of God and will not return unto me void. I do give thanks that this is so and so it is! Amen!

Light

Treatment by Tammi McKinley, RScP

We have reached the time of year of darkness. This is only an appearance, for within the darkness is the great light of the One. The Light that is within you, me, and each one on our planet.

Knowing that God is all there is and that I and each one is one with and inseparable from the Divine, I live in great expectation. I know the abundance and prosperity that shines within. I know the love that is within. I know that all things are possible. I accept and claim this to be so. I know that where there is darkness, that there is the Light of God bursting forth. I know this to be so.

And so I am grateful for this knowing and this remembering of God in, as, and through me. It gives me such joy!

I release my words into the Law where they are already acted upon. I let it go. I let it be.

And so it is

Into the Woods

Careful the wish you make

Wishes are children

Careful the path they take

Wishes come true, not free

Careful the spell you cast

Not just on children

Sometimes the spell may last

Past what you can see.

(Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods)

Readers of this blog know that I love musicals. Today Suzanne and I saw Into the Woods. It’s a fascinating pastiche (what we sometimes call a mash-up) of the familiar fairy tales from our childhood, framed in an overarching story by James Lapine (writer of the book of the Broadway version and the screenplay of the movie version) and composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim. We meet Cinderella, Jack (from “Jack and the Beanstalk”), Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel, among others. There are even two princes involved.

The movie boasts an all-star cast, including Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Christine Baranski, Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine (also known for his role as Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movies), James Corden, Tracey Ullman, and others.

There was a village on the edge of the woods. Among those who lived there was a witch (Streep) and her neighbors. When a woman becomes pregnant, the greens she needs are only available in the witch’s garden. Her husband begins to visit the garden in order to get the greens. One day, he is caught taking the greens and some beans from the garden. To rectify this, the witch demands their firstborn daughter (whom she names Rapunzel) and lays a curse on the house that they shall be barren. Their son is born, becomes a baker, gets married, and he and his wife wish to have a child. But the curse of barrenness has fallen upon him as well; so to reverse the curse, they must travel into the woods to get the witch a specific list of items: a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper as pure as gold.

To get these items, the Baker and his wife come into contact with Jack, who is selling his cow Milky-White, Red Riding Hood, who is traveling through the woods to her Grandma’s house in her red cape, Rapunzel, with her yellow hair, and Cinderella, with a pair of golden slippers.

Much of the plot from that point will be familiar, as it encompasses the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales. However, the characters find that their happily ever afters are not as anticipated. Yet they manage to make a happy ending while slaying the giant who is terrorizing the village.

What do we learn from all this? Well, for one thing, who knew these characters knew each other?

But on a more serious note, as one of our Center’s founding ministers, Rev. Noel McInnis, used to say, “We have freedom of choice, but not of consequence.” In every moment, we choose what to say and do, what goals to seek — and if we’re committed to them, wishes come true — but not free. There is always a price to pay. There are usually unanticipated consequences. We get where we’re going, but often not without getting lost in the woods along the way. And when we’re lost in the woods, the only thing to do is keep walking. If you don’t go through it, you’ll never get past it.

The woods represent our fears and doubts. They can be frightening, but we must walk through them. We have to walk through the woods, not around them. Once we master these fears, they’re no longer frightening. When we come through the woods, through the fear, things turn out for the best — but mostly not in the way we anticipated. They are not as anticipated for the Baker, for Cinderella, for Jack or Little Red Riding Hood, but they wind up in a happy place despite the unhappy circumstances. New chapters are unfolding, and things are working out for them in a new and different way.

We also learn a bit about blame and how it prevents us from taking necessary action. The characters’ releasing of blaming each other finally enables them to defeat the giant and create a new way of life for themselves, one that they could not have anticipated.

And then there is that lush score, including “Children Will Listen”, from which I quoted above. This is an entertaining, profound, bittersweet, and extremely entertaining movie.

Into the Woods — you have to go.
