I am so grateful for the Spring of the Spirit available to all!

Treatment by Rich Kurasiewicz, RScP

Well, we’re into Spring already and we just had more snow…. Does the effect change that it is Spring or the equinox? Do effects hide the Truth that all is Spirit, all is God and all is Good? Knowing the Truth will set you free.  Faith will help overcome the belief in the reality of the effects.  Spring is a time of rebirth , growth, expansion and blooming—choose to consciously live Life and the Truth! And so we pray…

There is only One life, One Power and One Presence and Power—it is God and it is all Good, Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent. God is the Living Spirit Almighty—in all, over all, around all, through and throughout all. God is the Creator and the Creation—all Life and everything there is. And I am that I am. I am the Power and the Presence and One with the Father—the faith of God as God. Just as I am perfect, whole and complete, I know that each and everyone reading this and at the Center is perfect, whole, complete, eternal and immortal. I declare that each and everyone chooses to be reborn through Spirit in the Mind by going within to the Divine Presence that is in each and everyone. And I know that each and everyone let’s their light shine fully as they are transformed by the renewal of the Mind in Truth as they see and practice the Presence of God in everyone and everything. It is the Divine Truth that sets each and everyone free and transforms Life into Truth, Beauty, Wisdom and Love.

I am grateful, especially for the Truth, Spirit, Mind, Faith, Peace, Love, Joy, Abundance reborn into the lives of each and everyone as they expect and accept their Good. I am so exceedingly grateful that each and everyone chooses consciously to live the One Life that is present within. I am so grateful for the Spring of the Spirit available to all! I release my Word unto the Law where it is already known in the Mind of God and is assured of fulfillment.  This Word will not return unto me void.  I do give thanks that this is so, and so it is.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman

This evening, Suzanne and I went to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman.  As long-time fans of these characters when they used to appear on “Rocky and Friends”, we were anticipating a very enjoyable and funny experience and we were not disappointed.  It is quite true to the Peabody and Sherman that we remember, right down to the witty puns (something I particularly enjoyed.)

For those of you who do not remember Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Mr. Peabody is a genius dog who has invented many things, including a time machine he calls the Wayback Machine, and Sherman is his adopted son.   It’s a very funny role reversal.  The movie is full of the kind of fractured history and humor for which Sherman and Peabody are deservedly famous – or, at least they were.  If, like me, you’re a fan (my inner child relates to Sherman in a number of ways), you will find the movie familiar, fun, and a very good time.  The children there seemed to enjoy it too.

There are a couple of moments in the movie that humorously teach our philosophy.  Without giving away too much plot, there is one scene where Peabody, Sherman, and Sherman’s new friend Penny are in the Renaissance visiting Leonardo DaVinci (you’ll have to see the movie to see why they made that visit.)  While DaVinci and Mr. Peabody are doing some work, Sherman and Penny are exploring.  They come upon DaVinci’s flying machine.  They figure out how to fly it and are happily flying all around town without incident.  They fly by where Peabody and DaVinci are working and Mr. Peabody asks Sherman what he is doing.

“Flying,” Sherman says happily.

“But you can’t fly,” says Mr. Peabody.

“I can’t?” Sherman asks, sounding puzzled.  At that point, he crashes the flying machine.

There is another point toward the end of the movie where the situation has gotten ridiculously, humorously, hopelessly out of hand.  In the presence of what Mr. Peabody proclaims “the greatest collection of geniuses ever”, it is Sherman who comes up with the pivotal idea that saves the day.  As Peabody tells him, “you are a genius.”

These two moments carry important lessons.  First, as Henry Ford once said (no, he’s not in the movie), “If you think you can or if you think you can’t, you’re right.”  As long as Sherman thinks he can fly DaVinci’s machine, he files it fairly effortlessly.  As soon as Peabody reminds him that he can’t fly, suddenly he can’t.  He crashes.  Do you think you can or do you think you can’t?  Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t fly – especially if you’re flying at the time.

And Sherman really is a genius.  He simply listens to his intuition, states his idea in its brilliant simplicity (which Peabody then turns into a compilation and calculation), and they execute it, thus solving their problem and returning things to proper order.  Sherman is a genius partly because he has grown up with Peabody, but he is also a genius because he follows his own brilliant idea.  Are you willing to follow your genius, no matter how ridiculously simple it may appear?

All in all, an enjoyable evening at the movies.  And as Mr. Peabody always says, “no doubt about it – every dog should have a boy.”  Especially one like Sherman.

It is in this ever changing, ever growing universe that I recognize our place.

Good evening and Happy Spring

Yes, this is the first day of Spring.  Was it just Monday that we had 8 inches of Snow, and temperatures in the 20’s?  We experience changes, changes of the weather, the rebirth of the flowers, and the trees budding.  It is with the many changes that we experience now that I offer this prayer.
I know that there is only one, one ever changing, ever renewing presence.  As I know that there is only one presence, I recognize that this presence is experiencing the universe as me and everything in the universe is God experiencing itself.  God is expressing as me, and as the universe.  In this experience there is the ever changing that is God in expression.  It is in this ever changing, ever growing universe that I recognize our place.  It is in this universal growth and change, that we grow in our awareness of spirit’s movement.  I know that all is well in this ever changing world.  God is in charge, and I can relax in this knowing.  As I know this to be true, I give thanks for the changes that we experience.  I give thanks for the chance to grow with the changes that are all around us. I release this prayer to the universal power that is.  And so it is.

My marching orders for today: Live, Love, Live, Love.

Treatment by Rev. Faith Woods, RscP

Dear Beloved One,

I am grateful to be in prayer with you today. This is a most magnificent day. It is a day unique and complete and only now. What do I make of it?

Knowing there is a presence and power beyond me, I honor that.

Knowing this presence and power is all there is, I get my “bloated nothingness out of the way” – AND – I connect with it. I let it use me. I allow the Love that It is to flow to, and through, and around each and every part of me. I allow It to use me today in a Sacred and Holy way.

I am ready to receive the blessings of this Presence and to be a vessel of Its Love. I am standing now on holy ground and ready to allow anything unlike it to be transformed into Love. The power in me is unlimited and today for this moment – I loose it – and I ZAP the Universe with all the love I can produce (which is more than I can conceive) and let It do Its work. I watch and become aware of the power of Love, so that I may use it even more powerfully.  I allow it to expand in my being.

I am blessed to know the power of Love, the power of the Divine.  I am blessed to know the Power that I am as I allow Love to flow through me.

So much gratitude – so much Joy – so much Love. My marching orders for today: Live, Love, Live, Love.

Releasing these thoughts and this prayer into the Law – the beautiful Law – the allowing Law, that is always in harmony with us and allows us to add our notes to the melody of Life…I release.
And So It Is.
Blessed Be

Today, I Create the Life of my Dreams.

Treatment by Carol Haave, RScP

Have you ever thought about what you wanted to be as a kid?  I wanted to be an oceanographer so I could work with “Flipper.”  Every Saturday morning after swim practice I would ride my bike to Ocean World so that I could get in the tanks and swim with flipper.  Those were happy days.  As I contemplate retirement I am reminded of what I wanted to do as that child and think if not now, when?  My plan is to remember all the things that make me happy and incorporate them into my days moving forward because well, why not?

There is one Life.  That Life is God’s Life.  That Life is Perfect.  That Life is my Life now.  Today, I create the life of my dreams.  I remember what makes me happy and allow more and more of that into my life.  I don’t worry about making money to pay the bills or working to ensure I have healthcare or whatever considerations I tell myself to keep me prisoner in a life that is suboptimal. I simply smile and create a life that is perfect for me knowing that God is my Source.  God makes a way where there appears to be no way.  I simply have to know the what I want in my life, not the how.  Today I spend time in the silence thinking about the what.  I want sunshine and flipper and fresh cut flowers.  I want laughter and smiles and to be kind to someone in need.  I want to walk the beach, play with Lexi (dog) and support a friend.  I want to eat well, exercise in a fun way and smell the roses.  I’ve come to realize that the best things in life really are free — smelling the salt air at the beach, the waving of flowers in the wind, the smiles of friends and the love of family.  Priceless.  What more can I want than this?  Knowing that I am a divine child of God, affirming my right to be here and have the life I want, grateful for what already is in my life and the anticipation of more to come, I thank God.  I release these words into the Law, smiling as I know their power and complete manifestation in my life….in each person’s life.  Thank you, thank you God for all this and more.  And so it is!!

A Period of Revelation, Revealing each Person’s Pure Potentiality

Treatment by Rev Trish Hall

Today is day 6 of our 40 days of LENT (Lovingly Eliminating Negative Thinking)  We are using Dr Michael Beckwith’s book 40 Day Mind Fast, Soul Feast  as a guide for daily spiritual practice.  Our new stock of books arrived so if you didn’t get yours last weekend you can pick one up tomorrow or Sunday.  We’re selling them for only $10 so everyone can have a copy to follow along.  We also have formed some circles so you can get together with others and share the journey or go solo, whichever you prefer.

The intention for my prayer today is to support all of us as we engage in daily spiritual practice.  For some this may be a new practice, for others it will be a deepening of an existing practice.  Either way, we’re in it together which thrills me!

Knowing that there is only one creative Source of all that is, I know that It is expressing Itself in, as, around, through and throughout all that is.  There is no “God and” … there is only God so all that is in this world of form and beyond is God in expression.  As such I know that all of creation is pure Divine Potentiality.  I know that each and every person is pure divine potentiality.

I now declare that this 40 day “LENT” is a period of revelation, revealing each person’s pure potentiality.  The transformation that is underway is nothing more, nothing less than the revealing of each person’s Divinity: the full actualization of pure potentiality.  I sense it on every level.  I claim what already is coming into radiant experience.  As all are awakening to their Divinity, the Divine Attributes of peace, harmony, beauty, wisdom, joy, compassion and so much more are fully experienced.  Love in action is the norm.  Anything unlike Divine Attributes now fades into the nothingness from which it came.  Each heart is at peace.  The world is at peace. The nature of God within each person prevails.

I am so grateful for knowing this Truth and for knowing the power of prayer.  I know Word I have spoken here is known in the Mind of God and is now emerging as all of creation, so I release in total confidence and conviction.  I release my Word into the Law.  It is so … and So It Is!

We are a way for the Cosmos to know itself.

Treatment by Tim Phares, RScP

“We are a way for the Cosmos to know itself.” — Neil DeGrasse Tyson

Suzanne and I watched the first episode of Cosmos together.  I don’t know who wrote it, but there was a LOT of New Thought in the script — and they think it’s just science.

The host, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, the astrophysicist and director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York (one of my very favorite places growing up), went through the long history of the cosmos, from the Big Bang to the present day.  It’s amazing how small a part of that time we’ve been around.

Some years ago, I read a book entitled The Self-Aware Universe: How Consciousness Creates the Material World by Dr. Amit Goswami, one of the scientists featured in What the Bleep Do We Know?  Dr. Goswami says something similar to the Tyson quote from tonight’s episode that I cited above: “The Universe is self-aware through us.”

We are the eyes, ears, and senses of the Infinite.  It deliberately, consciously, intentionally chose to express as you and me, as each of us, as that which came before, as that which comes after.  So what kind of awareness are you expressing?

At this week’s service at Celebration Center, we were given the suggestion to “surrender your idea of who you think you are to the possibility of who you really are.”  So who are you really?  Dr. Tyson, Dr. Goswami, and others give us a suggestion of who we really are.

We know that our awareness defines our Universe.  Our awareness does not define THE Universe — it’s way too big for that — but it defines ours.  How are you defining your Universe?  Step back and check it out.

And so, we step into that vastness, into that possibility, into that self-knowingness of the Cosmos. We do this via prayer.

There is only One Life.  That Life is God’s Life.  That Life is perfect.  That Life is my life right now.

Knowing that the Universe is self-aware through me, knowing that I am a way for the Cosmos to know itself, I know that what is true of the One must be true of the Each and the All, and so it must be true of me.  I am made of star stuff, and it is simply part of the One.

I eagerly step into that field of possibility, into that greater and larger expression.  I know that an abundant cosmos is at my disposal.  I know that it overflows with good: prosperity, health, joy, harmony, peace, and so many other things.  It is programmed to deliver these things in abundance.  I gratefully and joyously accept them

I am thankful for all the ways that the Cosmos knows itself as and through me and as and through each of us, enriching our lives with so much wonder.

And in that gratitude, I simply surrender, release, let go, and let in the real, the new, the magnificent, knowing that it is mine and it is me right now and always.

And SO it IS!

Spring Forward

Treatment by Ed Preston, RScP

Today I accept God’s gift of time to play with time itself.  I divinely play by remembering playing cowboys and Indians as a child.  Then I played a soldier fighting the Nazis.  My neighbor girl played mother with her baby dolls. I even remember playing at being a horse, with a rider on my back. I celebrate my ability to cross time in my memories.  Now that I’m older, I get to play at being God, by changing time itself.

We each have this gift of God to play with time in our memories and in our dreams and even by just changing our clocks.    Last night we got to play with time again as we all remembered “Spring Forward, Fall Back” and we played at being God by changing time.

Today, we are all together in time as we celebrate “daylight savings time” wherever we are.   Most of us were asleep this morning when the sun rose an hour later.  Tonight we will be awake and aware of the sun setting an hour later, so in our wakefulness we save an hour of daylight.  We smile with and as God at “Daylight Savings Time”.  So, I realize for all of us that we are Divinely at play with time today.

As a child I was so grateful for my toys.  Today, I’m grateful for Time, my new toy.  I say thank you, God, for Time and for my ability to play with it like this.  We all “saved” some daylight today.  So, I spring forward in gratitude and look forward to falling back in love.  Thank you for the joys of toys.

As I release these words into the laughing heart of God, and into the Law of Life, I simply accept that we are all here to play, joyfully, in time.

And so it is.

The budding of new expressions of life within and through our church.

Treatment By Frank Mastoris

Today is March 7th, a little less than 2 weeks till Spring.  I am so ready for warmer weather and the budding of new life.  A new expression of the divine.  So today I pray.

There is only one life. That life is God’s perfect life in multiple forms and expressions.  That life is perfect.  That Life is my life and the life of each and every one of us as divine expressions of the beloved called God.

I know, as we prepare for the expressions of new life, the budding of the trees, the birth of birds and new babies that nature brings, that energy expressed moves through the Celebration Center bringing forth new life and the budding of new expressions of life within and through our church.  We cannot but blossom as the flowers open to the sky so we open to God within and express “More Please”.

So I am grateful, ever so grateful, for the blossoming of God in our lives and the lives of our church. I release this to the law knowing it is done in mind and form and so it is.

I am so richly blessed

Treatment by Rev. Trish Hall

Good Evening …

It’s been a long and wonder-filled day.  As I replay my day from beginning to now its ending, I am filled with gratitude, overflowing with joy and appreciation.  I am so richly blessed!  I count my blessings and fill my gratitude journal, from early preparations for this fabulous day,  for our Visioning Circle, our Celebration Service, our “First Sunday Feast” (potluck), our practitioners’ monthly prayer and meditation then wrapping up with our beautiful Meditation with Tibetan Bowls.  I spent the day moving from one experience to another with excitement, anticipation and delight!  This is a day (“like all other days”) the Lord has made.  I rejoice and am glad.  I have been meditating, praying and playing throughout it all. Wow!  How good it is!!!  So my prayer is very simple:

I am in awe as I stay awake to the Presence of God in, as, around, through and throughout all that is.

I fairly sizzle as I become ever more keenly aware that that omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence that is God is my life.

I fling open my heart and mind to glean more and more of the unlimited givingness of God.  I embrace it all.  I consciously embody it all.

I commit to consciously … moment by moment … being an activity of God as Love.

I am immeasurably grateful for my life … for knowing Truth … for all the opportunities for sacred service

I release, let go, let it be … And so It is!
